Six schools were closed in Dumkibas, Nawalparasi on Wednesday, following wide-spread rumours that the Maoists were going to abduct 400 students from those schools, a published report said Thursday.
Among the six schools, three were private and three government schools, Kantipur said. The rumours were first heard in Bhanudaya Secondary School from early in the morning.
“When the students heard the rumour, they were terrified and started to flee,” said a teacher of the school. “Some students fractured their legs also.”
