KATHMANDU: The rupee slipped against the dollar by 25 paise and other major convertible currencies Thursday. The Nepal Rashtra Bank fixed the buying rate for the greenback at Rs.76.55 and the selling rate at Rs.77.30.
The depreciation coincides with the fall in the exchange of the Indian rupee against the dollar this week. Nepal has floated the rupee against convertible currencies while maintaining a fixed exchange rate with the Indian rupee. The exchange rate with convertible currencies was adjusted to maintain the cross exchange rate.
