Prohibitory orders issued in parts of Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: The Kathmandu District Administration Office (DAO) Tuesday issued prohibitory orders in some parts of Kathmandu banning mass activities such as demonstrations and picketing.

“Prohibitory orders have been issued in some parts of Kathmandu in order to maintain law and order in accordance with the Local Administration Act 2028 clause 6 (3),” the DAO said in its statement issued this evening.

The prohibitory orders have been imposed from Nagpokhari to Jaya Nepal Cinema Hall to the southern area of the Royal Palace, Keshar Mahal and the western gate of the palace to Nepal Scout Central Office.

Similarly, prohibitory orders will be in effect in and around of Singha Durbar, Bhadrakali Temple, Padmodaya School and Ramshahpath.  The prohibitory orders will take effect from today midnight.
