The Prithvi Highway was re-opened for traffic Saturday after repairs at Kurnitar restoring the only direct road link between the capital and the resort town of Pokhara in west Nepal, the Department of Roads said.

A 100 metres section of the road collapsed 78 kms west of the capital. Transport operators have been advised to drive cautiously at night because of continuing repairs and stone fall threat.
