Prime Minister, CoAS discuss security situation

Chief of the Army Staff (CoAS) Pyar Jung Thapa met with Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala and discussed the current security situation of the country.

Lieutenant General Rukmangat Katuwal and Defense secretary Bishnu Datta Upreti were also present during the meeting held at the Prime Minister’s official residence in Baluatar.

They discussed the current security situation of the country and further steps that may be needed to keep it stable.

When contacted by Nepalnews, the personal assistant of PM Koirala confirmed the meeting but did not disclose the issues of discussion.

According to reports, they agreed that the security situation need to be enhanced in the country’s current scenario with the country moving towards elections of constituent assembly.

They also discussed the recent violent activities in the capital and other parts of the country.
