Pakistan and Bangladesh have qualified for the semi-finals and the knockout phase of the eight nation SAFF Championship in Dhaka, reports from the Bangladesh capital said.
Pakistan first went into the next round of the championship from Group A with wins over arch rival India and then Sri Lanka. Bangladesh qualified for the semi-finals with a first win over Nepal in Group B and then Maldives. Both countries play one more league match.
Nepal and Maldives play their last league match in Group B Wednesday after a day’s rest Tuesday. Maldives and Nepal are placed second in their Group with one win each.
Nepal has to beat Maldives by a wide goal margin to qualify for the semis after Maldives thrashed Bhutan.
