“Girija Prasad Koirala said he did not know if talks were with the King or the Prime Minister. Thapa told me the King was in a serious mood while I tried to get details of the recent talks between Surya Bahadur Thapa and the Monarch,” daily newspaper, Annapurna Post, reported in its Thursday editions quoting the former Premier in Pokhara.

The newspaper said CPN-UML leader Madav Nepal said in Janakpur he was surprised; Nepal is in Janakpur where the party is holding a national convention beginning February 1.

“Who talked about the cease-fire and talks? What were the conditionalities? These are important  questions. We wish talks succeed to protect the gains of the 1990 Movement. But is is surprising and

shortsighted that other parties were not informed,” Nepal said.
