The construction of a 41.5 metres high “World Peace Pagoda” has been completed at Lumbini, the birthplace of the Buddha The pagoda was constructed by Nipponzon Myohouji, a Japanese Buddhist
organization, in memory of Guru Nichidashu who spent four years in Nepal and died 18 years ago.
Fifty-five such pagodas have been built world-wide, an announcement said. Altogether 900 tons of cement and 411 tons of iron rod were used in the construction.
