The Nepal Telecommunications Corporation (NTC) said it will link 13 remote hill districts by VSAT after Maoists destroyed telephone towers disrupting normal telecommunications in those districts.
Dolakha, Rasuwa, Sindhupalckowk, Manang, Mustang, Dolpa, Mugu, Jumla, Kalikot, Humla, Bajura, Bhajang and Darchula will be linked by VSAT, the NTC said. The NTC has asked village development committees in the districts to get in touch with the NTC district offices for the restoration of telecommunications through the new system.
Telephones will be distributed in those areas phase wise weather permitting and taking into consideration transport difficulties for equipment.
