The Norwegian Agency for Development Co-operation (NORAD) and Himal Power Limited (HPL) signed a finance agreement this week to construct the Jhankre mini hydropower plant in Dolakha district. NORAD will met 80 percent while HPL will met 20 percent of the project cost.
The accord was signed by Norwegian Ambassador Ingrid Ofstad and General Manager of HPL Dr. Harald O. Skar. The HPL are promoters of Khimti-I.
Foreign investors have shown interest in developing the power sector in Nepal after its privatization.
