Nepal and Thailand signed a civil aviation accord in Thailand Thursday permitting airlines of both the countries to increase passenger uplift between the two countries, an announcement of the Ministry of Civil Aviation said.

Designated airlines will be permitted to lift an additional 1100 passengers every week between the two countries in addition to the present quota of 2,600 passengers, the announcement said.

The airlines of the two countries have also agreed to a common code sharing scheme.
Nepal and Thailand also agreed to start flights between two additional points between the two countries; the points were not designated.

Thai International and Royal Nepal Airlines presently operate flights between Kathmandu and Bangkok only.
