Nepal offers US$ 50,000 relief aid to quake-hit Pakistan

The government has decided to provide US$50,000 relief aid to Pakistan where at least 41,000 people have died in a deadly earthquake that struck the country on Saturday.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs made the announcement on Tuesday, according to the state-owned Radio Nepal.

The earthquake measured 7.6 in Richter scale also struck parts of India and Afghanistan while most deaths were reported in the Pakistan occupied Kashmir (POK).

Sending separate messages to Pakistani President General Pervez Musharraf, Indian President APJ Abdul Kalam and Afghan President Hamid Karzai, His Majesty King Gyanendra on Monday expressed deep sorrow over the loss of lives and damages caused by the earthquake in these countries.
