Nepal, India agree to beef up security in border areas

Security and administrative officials of Nepal and India who held a meeting in Dumara of Sitamadhi, India, on Monday agreed to make strict security arrangements in the bordering areas and restrict open trade of alcoholic products and consumption.

Both sides agreed to maintain security alert during the time of Dashain festival, official news agency RSS quoted Ramesh Prasad Fuyal, a police superintendent in Mahottari, as saying.

Chief district officer of Mahottari, Jaya Mukund Khana, CDO of Sarlahi, BR Adhikari, administrative officer of Rautahat district, BP Poudyal, SPs working in the three districts and DSPs of the National Investigation Department were present at the meeting.
