The Nepali Congress launched its new phase of protest programs against ‘regression’ Tuesday, suspending the Kathmandu-centered demonstrations.

The NC that is leading the anti-‘regression’ movement with support of three other fringe parties launched a 24-hour relay hunger strike at Ratna Park from 8:00AM today.

NC general secretary Sushil Koirala, the Kathmandu District Committee chairman Tirtharam Dangol, octogenarian pro-democracy activist Chhaya Devi Parajuli and chairmen of all seven election constituencies in Kathmandu took part in the hunger strike.

NC has declared another relay hunger strike program outside the capital on July 4 and has called on party activists and other allies to actively join in.

As per the new protest programs, rallies, public interactions and sit-ins will continue until July 15.
