Nepali Congress has rescheduled Thursday’s protests to deliver its disagreement to district administrations opposing King Gyanendra’s dismissal of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba on October 4 by assuming executive powers under Article 127 of the constitution following a constitutional breakdown, the Party said.

16 people accused of supporting Maoists released
Nine persons including journalist Dev Kumar Yadav, who were held in custody for about 13 months on allegations of being Maoists were released Tuesday, RSS reported from Siraha.
After the imposition of the state of emergency, Yadav, who is Siraha correspondent for the weekly “Janadisha” had presented himself at the District Administration Office. After about 10 days he was detained at the district police jail.
Yadav, a member of the Federation of Nepalese Journalists Siraha district branch and former FNJ central member has been released on bail. Others released include Dhyani Mahato and Fuleshwar Yadav of Arnama VDC, Raghunath Mahato of Dhagadi VDC and Mohammad Israfil, Sarjung Baderi
and Shivaji Gaderi of Siliraba Pachhari VDC.
Likewise Jagendra Yadav of Gauripur VDC-1 and Jogendra Raj Dhobi of Pokharibhanda VDC-7 have also been released on bail. Fifty one others are still being held in custody at the jail.
Reports from Kaski have stated that seven Maoists have been released after they surrendered before the security forces.
