NC central committee meeting kicks off

The central committee meeting of the opposition Nepali Congress began Friday in the Nepali capital in the party’s newly constructed building at Balkhu.

The meeting concentrated mainly on country’s contemporary political situation and the party’s forthcoming general convention, central member of NC, Dr. Ram Baran Yadav, told Nepalnews.

NC’s forthcoming convention is to take place in Birgunj in February next year. The meeting is to elect a new leadership of the over five decade-old party.

Yadav also informed that the party discussed the subject of  intensifying the four party’s on-going agitation against ‘regression’.

The opposition parties term the royal move of October 4, 2002 as ‘regression.’

The meeting will continue on Saturday.
