KATHMANDU: King Gyanendra granted audience to the Indian Foreign Minister K Natwar Singh at Narayanhiti Palace soon after the minister’s arrival to Kathmandu on Friday.
Crown Prince Paras and Indian ambassador Shyam Saran were also present on the occasion.
Earlier, Singh met newly appointed Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba. He and Deuba discussed issues affecting bilateral relations, the current political situation and stability.
Singh also met the UML general secretary, Madhav Kumar Nepal at the Indian Embassy.
Singh is scheduled to meet RPP President, Pashupati SJB Rana and the former prime minister, Surya Bahadur Thapa on Saturday morning in the Indian Embassy.
He will also be visiting Girija Prasad Koirala, the president of Nepali Congress at his residence on Saturday morning. Singh is scheduled to return on Saturday afternoon after completing his two-day goodwill visit. nepalnews.com pd June 05 04
