Maoist students Saturday withdrew an indefinite strike in schools in Bheri and Karnali anchals in far west Nepal to press for the release of central student leaders, including general secretary Himal Sharma, Kantipur FM said quoting a statement of the student organisation.
The strike launched one week ago affected at least 2,200 educational institutions. The strike call was widely condemned. The withdrawal of the strike comes despite the release of the Maoist student leaders.
The Maoist students said they will continue other protests.
