KATHMANDU: Forty VDC secretaries of Dolakha district collectively resigned from their posts Sunday owing to pressure from the Maoist rebels.

There are total 51 VDCs in the district. A few days earlier, according to reports, the Maoists had asked the VDC secretaries to resign within this month (Mangsir).

Development and administrative works in the villages remain affected as most of the VDC secretaries have been staying at the district headquarters due to security reasons.
