Suspected Maoist rebels blew up the home of Deputy-Inspector General Devendra Bahadur Malla, in Gauriganj of Chitwan district.

After telling the caretaker to leave the house, the rebels set off a bomb. According to the police, the single-storied house was completely destroyed in the explosion.

Malla is stationed at the Police Headquarters in Kathmandu.
