The Maoists Friday claimed responsibility of murdering two security guards of the Kathmandu based American Embassy but disowned allegations that they had hurled a bomb at the residence of Raj Parishad Chairman Keshar Jung Rayamajhi during the recent bandh.

A statement signed by Vijay, the Valley Area Bureau Chief of the CPN (Maoist) stated that the party had carried out the killings of Deepak Pokharel last week and Ramesh Manandhar sometime back after discovering that they were spying on the Maoist activities.

The rebels have warned all political parties and foreign missions that they would not be spared if they ventured to create any obstacles to the peoples’ war.

Meanwhile they have also instructed Santosh Panta, a comedian artist to resign from the post of honorary Subedar in the Royal Nepal Army. They have called upon Panta to resign from the Department of Military Intelligence within 7 days.

Panta has been asked to step down from the post on charges that he was involved in portraying the Maoists of being anti-social through the tele-serials that he has been making for Nepal Television.

Panta has been quoted as saying by the media that the post was an honorary one given to him 17 years back and he would not step down. He said as an artiste he was involved in unearthing the social evils and he would keep on doing so without coming under pressure from any individual or organization.
