Despite the calls for unilateral ceasefire, Maoists are continuing their violent activities.

A report from Baglung said a 21-year-old man, abducted by the Maoists on November 10 along with his parents, was found dead in the Hardewa jungle, Baglung, on Thursday.

The deceased was identified as 21-year-old Deu Narayan Poudel. The whereabouts of 65-year-old Bhakti Bilash Poudel and 53-year-old Jamuna Poudel, father and mother of Deu Narayan, is not known yet.

The Maoists had abducted the three from their residence in Binamare VDC-2 saying they were taken into control for the investigation of the death of Bishnu Kumari, sister-in-law of Deu Narayan on August 29.

Likewise, Maoists abducted four persons including three technicians and one area member of the Panchthar District Development Committee from Nangin VDC of Panchthar on Friday and took them to an unknown location.

They were abducted from the venue where the Nangin village council meeting was being held.

Acting Local Development Officer, Ishwor Kumar Giri, confirmed their abduction and stated that the technical team was there conduct a survey for the Phidim-Nangin-Thangnam-Phalaut road, according to reports.

In their 12-point agreement with alliance of seven political parties, Maoists had agreed to respect civil and human rights of the people and join the politics of competition.

The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) on Friday appealed to the Maoists to fully comply with human rights and humanitarian law in pursuance to the commitments made in public towards human rights and international humanitarian law and also the declaration of ceasefire.
