KATHMANDU:  Indian Ambassador to Nepal, Shiv Shankar Mukherjee, and acting ambassador of the United States, Elisabeth Millard, held separate meetings with CPN (UML) general secretary Madhav Kumar Nepal at the UML central office in Balkhu Friday.

During the meetings, Nepal briefed the envoys about the current political situation of the country and the future steps of the seven political parties. The general secretary told the envoys that the agitating parties deemed the upcoming municipal polls as useless and were resolute on actively boycotting them, an UML source said.

Nepal also told the envoys that the parties were going to intensify their movement against the royal government. The UML source revealed that the envoys reiterated the position of their respective governments for early restoration of democratic process in Nepal.
