Kathmandu, Nov.14: Alleging discrimination, irate locals disrupted flights in and out of Jomsom by private airlines this week, reports from Mustang said.

Locals led by District President Nirmal Kumar Gauchan disrupted flights this week at the only airport serving the trans-Himalayan district bordering Tibet– a popular tourist destination.

Locals accuse private operators for charging arbitrary fares and giving preference to tourists. Royal Nepal Airlines operations in the district have not been affected. nepalnews.com br

Five Policemen Seriously Injured

Kathmandu, Nov.14: Five policemen were seriously injured when a jeep in which they were travelling hit a culvert and overturned near Gularia in Bardia district Monday, police said.

The accident occurred soon after the group left Gularia on patrol. The injured are being treated at a hospital in Nepalgunj.
