His Majesty King Gyanendra is set to embark on an unofficial tour to the Western Development Region from 4th October, officials today said.
On the first leg of his tour, the King will visit Pokhara, the headquarters of the Western Development Region, on October 4 (Tuesday). In Pokhara, the King will stay at the Ratna Mandir palace.
A 1000-member committee has been constituted under Ramesh Bahadur Bhattrai to make preparation for the royal visit in Pokhara.
The King, accompanied by Her Majesty Queen Komal, is also scheduled to visit other western districts– Tanahun, Parbat and Gorkha, among others, officials informed without giving the details of the royal tour.
His Majesty recently completed his tour to mid and far-western and the central regions during which he gave directions to senior administrators, local body representatives and security heads and interacted with ordinary people.
