Indian police have allegedly killed a Nepali citizen, Antap Ansari, on Saturday. Ansari was suspected of being a dacoit and was found murdered in a forest in Nichaul of Champaran, India.

The Himalayan Times, quoting locals of Tribeni, said Indian police in plain clothes took Ansari from his house at Narsahi, Nawalparasi on Saturday. However, Indian police claim Ansari was killed during an encounter. This claim has been dismissed by residents of Triveni, including Premchandra Rauniyar.

Nepali security forces have denied any knowledge of the incident.
