LALITPUR, Oct 18 – Mayor of Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City Buddhi Raj Bajracharya today disclosed that the sub-metropolis has decided to provide 200 ropanies of land for the construction of international standard exhibition hall as demanded by the government.
He revealed this while speaking at an inaugural function of ‘I Love Lalitpur’ campaign here today.
In his inaugural speech, Minister for Industry, Commerce and Supplies Ram Krishna Tamrakar said that every Nepali from every nook and corner of the kingdom should make effort to safeguard Nepalese art and culture thereby familiarizing Nepal across the globe.
Nepalese art and culture are par excellence but Nepalis themselves are not aware of it. The Nepal Pavilion at Hanover, Germany proved to be the most attractive pavilion at the trade fair participated in by 158 countries, he added. He also lauded the organizer of the campaign.
Kedar Lal Khoshi, President of Lalitpur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) said that the program was being organized with a view to promote over all economic activities and bring domestic and foreign consumers at one place.
The fair is organized to publicize the rich cultural heritage of Lalitpur and promoting it as one of the best tourism destinations in the country, he further said.
There are over 100 stalls which will provide five to 10 percent discount on every purchase during the week-long fair. The stalls are placed at Jawalakhel area and throughout-the-night stalls market around Krishna Mandir area.
Pradeep Kumar Shrestha, President of Federation of Nepalese Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and Birendra Rajkarnikar, coordinator of the campaign also spoke on the occasion.
