MYANGLUNG, Jan. 3: His Majesty the King, after the visit to Biratnagar to grace the civic reception on behalf of the people of the eastern region, is scheduled to visit fire-hit Myanglung of Terhathum district tomorrow.
After learning that His Majesty the King is to come to their district, the people of Terhathum district including the fire victims have forgotten all their woes and are eager to have Darshan of their king. Various institutions and organisations are building special welcome gates at present while the fire victims themselves are busy making roads by removing the rubble from the fire.
An all party meeting held at Myanglung under the convenorship of chief district officer Hari Lochan Sharma has constituted a 101-member main welcome committee under the chairmanship of the founder cum chairman of the Terhathum Chamber of Commerce and Industry Laxmi Kant Dhungana. CDO Sharma is the member cum secretary of the committee while its members comprise, among others, social workers and intellectuals including Surya Subedi.
Likewise, a 23-member executive committee has also been constituted with chairman of the reception committee Dhungana as the convenor. After the visit of His Majesty the King to Myanglung on Saturday has been confirmed, necessary work in connection with welcoming His Majesty is in full swing, CDO and secretary of the reception committee Sharma told journalists.
The people of Myanglung rendered homeless by the devastating fire on December 8 say that only the beloved king had understood their agony and come to provide them Darshan. Meanwhile, following confirmation of His Majesty the King’s visit to Myanglung tomorrow, the district committees of the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, Nepali Congress (Democratic) have stated that they will not stay in the reception committee.
However, the fire victims, intellectuals, traders and other persons of the civic society have been actively working to welcome His Majesty the King.
