HM King administers oath of office to new members of the cabinet

His Majesty King Gyanendra has administered oath of office and secrecy to newly appointed ministers, state ministers and assistant ministers separately at a function organized at the Narayanhiti Royal Palace on Thursday afternoon.

HM the King administered oath of office to ministers Keshar Bahadur Bista, Kamal Thapa, Buddhi Man Tamang and Narayan Singh Pun amid a ceremony. His Majesty later administered oath of office to newly appointed ministers of state and assistant ministers.

Prior to royal takeover, HM the King used to administer oath of office and secrecy to Prime Minister and the Prime Minister used to administer the oath to other members of the council of ministers.

Chairman of Raj Parishad standing committee, Parashu Narayan Chaudhary, administered oath to the newly appointed ministers as members of the Raj Parishad in the presence of HM the King today.

King Gyanendra had reshuffled and expanded his nine-month-old council of ministers on Wednesday. Eight members in the erstwhile cabinet have been sacked while more than half of the new council of ministers are new faces.
