Even after repeated reminders the Chand government has failed to follow the Supreme Court order asking it to release five detainees.

The Supreme court had issued orders on January 5 for the release of the five detainees arrested by the security forces on charges of being Maoists under the Terrorist and Destructive Activities (Prevention and Control) Act. Meanwhile the government notified the Supreme Court that it did not have Narayan Adhikari, one of the five detainees in custody.

The Supreme Court responding to queries why the government had failed comply by the orders to release the detainees said the government might not have received the orders officially.
