Geeta Rana was elected Wednesday president of the government recognized All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) by a majority vote. She collected 28 votes while her rival Tashi Ghale got 17 votes.

She was nominated president of the sport’s national governing body last year as a tussle continues to control the organization. The election was held in accordance with the statutes of FIFA and AFC.

Elections were also held for other positions of the executive committee.

Ganesh Thapa was elected president of the rival ANFA November 10. Thapa says his organization is recognized by FIFA, the world governing body of the sport.
