KATHMANDU: At least four policemen were killed and four others were injured in separate incidents in Banke and Kailai districts on Friday afternoon.
In Banke, suspected Maoists, who came on a motorcycle, killed three policemen guarding a police post in Nepalgunj while one policeman was killed in Dhangadi of Kailali.
The killed police personnel in Nepalgunj have been identified as Ranja Lala Giri, Lautan Chaudhari and Bir Bahadur Khatri while the police staff killed in Dhangadhi has been identified as Nabin Chand, reports said.
Two policemen and two civilians, including a 15 year-old, were injured in the firing by the suspected rebels in Banke. The injured are undergoing treatment at the Nepalgunj Medical College, Teaching Hospital, reports added.
