Four political parties represented in the dissolved parliament Wednesday decided to launch a protest movement against the October 4 dismissal of Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba after King Gyanendra assumed executive powers under Article 127 of the constitution following a constitutional breakdown, the parties said.
The parties made the decision following a meeting Wednesday. They have formed a four member committee to discuss the nature of the protest.
Committee members include Krishna Sitaula of the Nepali Congress Party, Subash Newang of the CPN-UML, Nabaraj Subedi of the Samyukta Jana Morcha and Sunil Prajapati of the Nepal Majdoor Kishan Party, the parties said.
“There was no alternative to the protests,” the parties agreed.
