Forces, rebels clash in Kalikot

Two Maoist rebels have been killed in fresh clashes between the security forces and the rebels in the mid-western district of Kalikot on Saturday, reports said quoting the Mid-western Pritana headquarters of the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) in Nepalgunj.

According to reports, the clash that began at Chhaile of Magni VDC in the district at around 9:30 a.m. today is still continuing.

The two killed Maoists are said to be a district-level and a regional leader of the rebel outfit, respectively. However, reports citing sources at the Mid-western Pritana headquarters have said that the casualties on the rebel side could be in dozens.

Security forces have seized one VHF telephone set, seven home-made guns, ammunitions and Maoist documents, reports added. Details of the clash are still awaited. nepalnews.com amt Dec 11 04
