Representatives of the Federation of Nepal Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNCCI) and the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) will meet in Calcutta this week to discuss the renewal of the Nepal-India trade treaty that expires December, an announcement said.
New Delhi has called for revision of some sections of the treaty charging Nepal for dumping goods in the Indian market and abusing duty free privileges for exports to India; Nepal denies the charges. India has invited Nepali officials to discuss the issue in the Indian capital.
New FNCCI President Rabi Bhakta Shrestha has nominated Prabhakar SJB Rana co-chairman, Diwakar Golcha co-ordinator and Rajendra Kumar Khetan, Kishore Kumar Khanal, Kush K.Joshi, Sashi Raj Pandey, Sanjib Rajbhandari and Badri Prasad Ojha members of the FNCCR-CII economic
council from FNCCI.
Suraj Vaidya and Jai Prakash Agrawal are permanent invitees while Padma Joyti is senior advisor.
