At least five rebels were killed during clashes with security forces in western district of Syangja Thursday.

The state-owned Radio Nepal quoted security sources as saying that the rebels were killed during clashes at a place called Dhapa of Tirhtekot in the district.

The clash had taken place when the rebels were laying landmines targeting the security personnel, the news report said.
