EU ambassadors in Nepal Monday condemned the escalating violence targeting infrastructure. The escalating violence is a “deliberate attempt to undermine the development of Nepal and the economic livelihood of its ordinary people,” a statement issued by the envoys said.
“The poor suffer the most. The Maoists demonstrate disregard for the civilian life and deprive the people of the most basic necessities such as food and water,” the statement added.
The envoys asked the rebels to end the violence, lay down arms and return to the negotiating table to join the political mainstream with other political parties and groups.
