The 31st annul general meeting of the Soaltee Hotel Limited on Wednesday elected current CEO and director, Dinesh Bahadur Bista, as the executive chairman of the company.

A press release issued after the annual meeting said Bhola Bikram Thapa, Dinesh Bahadur Bista, Ganga Bahadur KC and Rabi Bhakta Shrestha were nominated from Soaltee Enterprises Private Limited in the new Board of Directors while Rajiv Sharma will remain the nominee from Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG), Gautam Das Shrestha will remain the nominee from Royal Nepal Airlines Corporation (RNAC), Bijay Bahadur Shrestha, Niranjan Kumar Tibrewala and Shashi Raj Pandey were elected from the public.
The board directors at a meeting following the AGM, elected Bista as the chairman of the company, according to the statement.
Speaking on the occasion Bista said, “It will be my endeavour to try and ensure that the hotel weathers the mercurial times that the entire industry has been facing. I am excited with the challenges ahead and I am sure that with the support of all members of the board and the stakeholders, the Soaltee will retain its premier position.”
Siddhartha Rana, the outgoing executive chairman would be pursuing his education abroad and that he and his wife were planning to live overseas while he completes his education, the statement further said, adding that Prabhakar Rana will remain Chairman Emeritus of the company.
“It has been a wonderful experience serving as the chairman of Soaltee Hotel Limited. Both the institution and myself have grown together and I will miss the association with this historic property,” outgoing chairman Rana said.
Soaltee Hotel Limited owns the Soaltee Crowne Plaza, the premier five-star deluxe hotel in Kathmandu. The company has played an essential role in travel and tourism – Nepal’s largest industry – for over thirty years and continues to develop and expand its business.
