KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba put on hold the list of new ministers which was expected to be announced this evening (Monday). The Deuba cabinet is expected on Wednesday only.
Nepali Congress (Democratic) sources said the PM is trying to get a formal nod from the CPN-UML of its participation in the government. “He wants the UML to have few ministerial berths right in the initial phase,” said the source.
The UML, sources said, is unlikely to promise Deuba any help before Tuesday evening when the meeting of the central committee ends.
NC-D sources also revealed that the PM held hectic parleys with UML leaders to convince them to join the government. He also had discussions with party leaders this afternoon on how the government can be given an all-party shape. nepalnews.com mbk June 7 04
