The main opposition party CPN-UML has held the Maoist terrorists responsible for country’s problems and current situation. The central committee meeting of the CPN-UML that concluded in Kathmandu Thursday supported the decision of the government to declare a state of emergency and mobilize the army to curb violence and terror in the country.

In a statement issued after the meeting, CPN-UML has said that the ultra-leftist attitude and politics of violence and killings perpetrated by Maoist terrorists caused the current uneasy situation in the country.

It said that Maoists suddenly broke the peace talks and betrayed the nation and people, who wanted the problems to be solved peacefully. However, CPN-UML has asked all political parties and members of civil society to seek peaceful ways to solve the problem.
