Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Keshav Raj Rajbhandari has once again called upon all to take part in the municipal elections slated for February 8.

Speaking at a workshop on elections in Biratnagar, Rajbhandari said the polls alone could bring democracy to track. Stating that the Election Commission, not the government, had declared the polls, he added that the elections were meant for the political parties and the people.

The Chief Election Commissioner also informed that he was in touch with the leaders of the major political parties in the center, and they have no complaint regarding the elections.

“Take part in the elections. This is an appeal of the state,” he added.

He also reiterated that if any party recommends a candidate for the elections they will get the electoral sign of the party.
