Bomb explodes at Lalitpur ward office

LALITPUR, Jan. 3: Suspected Maoist terrorists exploded a powerful bomb at the office of ward No. 20 of Lalitpur Sub-metropolitan City at noon today, shattering windowpanes and damaging the walls of the two-storied building. Damage to property has been estimated at Rs. 200,000.

According to the local police office, a group of seven or eight youngsters entered the office at Nha Tole and burnt all the documents. Before leaving, they planted a pressure cooker bomb. A woman from Bara district in central Nepal who happened to be passing through the building at the time of the explosion was injured.

Meanwhile, RSS adds Maoist terrorists abducted an armless Army Jawan from Dharapani area of Pyuthan district last Wednesday, the Ministry for Security said. Meanwhile, the Ministry in a Press Release issued today has mentioned that the attention of the Ministry has been drawn over the news item published yesterday in a daily newspaper with a title ‘timber smuggling from reserve area with the consent of army and police’.

The ministry has refuted the news item as baseless and fictitious which has defamed the Royal Nepal Army as there is no Royal Nepal Army post at the place mentioned.
