Altogether 116 Bhutanese refugees, including 68 women, began an indefinite strike Tuesday at the Khundanbari refugee camp in Jhapa pressing for their repatriation after identification of 12,000 refugees at the camp was completed one year ago–one of seven UNHCR-administered refugee camps in Jhapa and Morang districts, reports from east Nepal said.
Among the three demands include the publication of the results of the joint Bhutanese Nepali investigation on the status of refugees, early repatriation and the start of identification at the six remaining camps in Jhapa and Morang.
