Another Maoist attack in Dailekh; 26 villagers injured, 4 abducted

The Maoists have again attacked civilians in different villages of Dailekh district.

According to reports published on Tuesday, Maoists on Sunday attacked and injured over two dozen people of the ward security committee formed to resist Maoist atrocities in Khadgawada VDC. The rebels abducted four other villagers.

Noteworthy, women of Khadgawada VDC last week had captured seven Maoist cadres including local Maoist commander Nain Bahadur Khadka and handed them over to the authorities.

Reports added that the armed group of Maoist rebels attacked and injured 26 villagers guarding the village and abducted 4 women, accusing them of leading anti-Maoist movement in the area. The abducted women who the Maoists took to undisclosed locations, have been identified as Kalpana Ramjali, Devi Bista, Laxmi Sharma and Ishwori Devi.

Two villagers- Jayakala Khadka and her 23-year-old son Khegendra- who were severely injured in the Maoist attack have been airlifted to Nepaljung for treatment. nepalnews.com pd Dec 14 04
