The deadlock in the educational sector that was expected to end Tuesday is still unresolved as the Maoist-affiliated student group refused to sit for talks with the government.

According to a member of the 13-member civil society taskforce, formed to end the current deadlock, the group is refusing to sit for talks before the ‘terrorist’ tag imposed on them by the state is removed. Sudip Pathak, the spokesperson of the taskforce,  said that a meeting is likely to be held on Wednesday.

In the meantime, the Ministry of Education and Sports on Tuesday evening told the ANNISU-R to sit for talks and to immediately withdraw their indefinite educational strike.
