Security forces killed 14 more Maoists in fresh operations against rebels in several districts including Bhojpur, Kanchanpur and Surkhet, the Defence Ministry said Friday.

The army suffered no casualties while repulsing a rebel attack in Dailekh Thursday; rebel casualties were not known, the Ministry said.

At least seven Maoists were killed and seven others were injured in a shoot-out with security forces in Khotang Wednesday, the Ministry said. Security forces recovered bodies of three rebels from the scene of the clash as survivors fled with the dead and the injured, the Ministry quoting eyewitnesses said.

Security forces this week arrested and are questioning two traders dealing with food grains robbed by rebels from locals in Bardia. The Maoists abducted and killed a soldier in Kailali and a civilian in Dhading Wednesday, an announcement said.
