The American embassy said Wednesday there is no specific threat in Nepal from terrorists who committed crimes in New York and Washington Tuesday.

“At present, we have no reason to believe that there is any specific threat in Nepal from terrorists who committed the crimes in New York and Washington. Still, Nepal authorities have volunteered to increase assistance to the American community as required. We are grateful for such support,” Larry Dinger, Charge d’ Affaires said.

He thanked all Nepali friends who sent “countless” condolences and messages from all sectors of Nepali society. “The entire American community in Nepal appreciates those sentiments of mourning and loss,” he said.
