A policewoman and a local resident were injured when an unidentified group of four men opened fire at them at Bouddha, Kathmandu, this afternoon.
Sarita Moktan, who works at the Community Police, and Jaya Mangal Lama, chairman of Bouddha Community Service Committee, were shot at by the assailants at around 3:15 p.m., police said.
Both the injured were rushed to to Om Hospital, Chabahil, for treatment and the condition of Moktan, who was shot in the chest, is said to be critical.
It is not known who the assailants were or why they shot the two persons but police said the incident could be a result of personal enmity.
