Maoists have freed three journalists after detaining them for four days, reports said.
According to Kantipur daily, Maoist rebels had taken Tikaram Neti, a reporter with the Nepal Samacharpatra daily; associate editors of ‘Purbanchal’ and ‘Bibechana’ dailies published from eastern town of Birtamod Subrat Neupane and Madan Kharel respectively on Thursday while they were visiting Khudunabari in Jhapa district in connection with reporting.
Press freedom watchdogs have flayed the Maoist action of barring journos from carrying out their duties and harassing and detaining them for no reason.
