Swiss Foreign Minister Joseph Deiss is visiting Nepal in November as part of a three nation tour of South Asia that will also take him to India and Bhutan.
Deiss personally made the announcement in the Swiss capital Bern to journalists from the three countries Wednesday including a staff reporter of The Rising Nepal.
We have a history of forty years of development co-operation with Nepal. It is probably one of the first we had at all. So, I will say that Nepal is something like a symbol of our development,” he reportedly said.
Switzerland, he said, will continue its development assistance to Nepal after declaring the kingdom one of 17 focus countries for aid. Switzerland has concentrated its development assistance mainly in the hill districts.
The Swiss launched Nepal’s now flourishing cheese industry.
